Run for Justice Virtual 5k Explained

Frequently Asked Questions

I paid my registration fee, started a fundraiser to invite family and friends to donate, or sponsored. What’s next?
In the confirmation email that you received there’s a sign-up link to add your information. All 5k participants must fill in their info via that sign-up link. The registration deadline for participants to receive a race t-shirt is April 30.

How can I track my time and distance for 5 kilometers?
You can use an app on your phone or a fitness tracker to time yourself. If you do not have an app on your phone, you can download and use the free version of the Strava app or numerous others. Once you’ve completed the 5K, you’ll be able to self-report your time through a link on our webpage. We are using the honor system. The current world record is 12:51, so we don’t expect any times faster than that.

Where can I walk or run?
Anywhere! Pick your favorite park, greenway, neighborhood, track, etc. We plotted this route that starts from the Pisgah Legal office in Asheville (62 Charlotte St.) and this route starts from the Pisgah Legal office in Hendersonville (440 S Church St). And this website offers a certain number of routes that have been created by other walkers and runners: https://www.plotaroute.com/routefinder.
