Support Our Work

Health Justice Program (formerly the ACA Program)

We are still here, and the Affordable Care Act (ACA) is still the law!

Open Enrollment for 2020 Plans is November 1- December 15, 2019- Make an appointment today to get your health insurance taken care of and out of the way for next year- Call us 828-210-3404 or use your zip code to search for an appointment:

The Health Justice Program can help you get the facts and unbiased answers your questions.

Pisgah Legal Services is a local non-profit in our seventh year of offering enrollment assistance. We are here to help you understand your options for affordable health insurance. Despite proposed changes to the law, the ACA is still here and coverage is still available for those who qualify.

Unsure if you are looking at good credible coverage? Here are some questions to ask when looking at health insurance plans:

  1. Can I be denied certain benefits because of preexisting conditions?
  2. Will I be asked any questions about my health status?
  3. Could that affect the price of my plan?
  4. Are there limits to how much my plan will pay for my care?

If the answer is yes to any of these questions, the plan is not a comprehensive plan protected by the ACA and you may be stuck with large medical bills. To be sure you get a quality health insurance plan go to www.healthcare.gov or make an appointment to meet with an enrollment assister at Pisgah Legal Services 828-210-3404

If you are confused about changes to health insurance give us a call and we can help you sort through the noise and look at what really matters for you and your family.
