Since the federal eviction moratorium ended in October 2021, evictions have reached pre-pandemic levels in Buncombe County. More than 500 evictions have been filed since the moratorium ended.
Pisgah Legal Housing Attorney David Bartholomew recently spoke to WLOS about this increase, why the number of evictions hasn’t spiked in Buncombe County the same way it has in other counties, and what community members can do if they may be faced with an eviction.
