David Bartholomew, Pisgah Legal housing attorney, spoke to WLOS, about the eviction moratorium, scheduled to end on March 31, 2021. One out of every five renters is behind in their rent payment, says Bartholomew. “The bill that was passed in Congress last week has quite a bit of rental assistance money,” Bartholomew said. “Pisgah Legal has joined over 2,000 organizations and urged the federal government to extend the moratorium as a matter of public health and to give time for the rental assistance to kind of funnel through to those who are in need.”
