Najah’s Story
For Najah, life became more complicated after the sudden death of her father. She tried to take over the mortgage payments, but without a will naming her as the heir, the mortgage company refused to work with her. The family home slipped into foreclosure. She needed legal help.
Then Hurricane Helene struck. Record-breaking rains flooded her basement, forcing her to bail out water by hand, and a sinkhole formed in the yard, making her porch unstable. At the same time, the storm abruptly halted her job — and income — as a food delivery driver.
When PLS Attorney Molly Maynard stepped in, everything changed. The mortgage company began to respond. Molly halted the foreclosure, worked to straighten out the deed, and secured a loan modification.

Together, they saved the family home, preserving generational wealth for this single mom to pass down to her son one day, just as her father would have wanted. And with a new job, Najah is repairing the damage left by Helene.
