    A North Carolina law has frozen the IOLTA (Interest on Lawyers' Trust Accounts) grant-making process, impacting civil legal aid organizations with a funding gap from July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2026. This freeze is leading to significant budget shortfalls and concerns about the coming year.

Pat and Phil are Co-Chairs of the PLS Endowment Campaign. Phil is a retired attorney with The Van Winkle Law Firm, and Pat is the retired executive director of CFWNC.

Thalia Hoy

Thalia has been assisting clients who are immigrants through Pisgah Legal’s Justice for All Program for more than 21 years.

Carol Steen

Carol is a donor and Pisgah Legal Services Board Member. She serves as Vice President of HR, IT, and Security for Biltmore Farms.
