Pisgah Legal Services has been active in disaster recovery since immediately after the storm, assisting our neighbors throughout Western North Carolina with disaster-related issues. PLS has provided free legal help and advice on these issues such as FEMA appeals, eviction prevention and housing rights, mortgage issues and foreclosure prevention, homeowners insurance denials and disputes, consumer protection against frauds and scams, and disaster-related tax issues. We are continuously learning about complex issues and connecting with many partners in the region to provide ongoing recovery assistance.
