PLS Finally Secures Larger Office Space
After years of overcrowding at its previous main office, Pisgah Legal Services has finally secured adequate office space. In our new office at 62 Charlotte Street in Asheville, PLS has:
Space for Volunteers
In our previous office, PLS had to turn away many volunteers who wanted to help our clients. In our new building, we have space to expand our Pro Bono Legal Hotline to help more people and to add a new team of intake volunteers to interview applicants for legal aid.
Increased Efficiency
PLS Board President, Terry Van Duyn notes, “I worried that the overcrowding in our previous office threatened staff retention, client confidentiality, and everyone’s safety. I’m thrilled and relieved that we finally have the space we desperately needed.”
Important Security Features
Our previous office did not have security features to protect clients and staff. Our new building includes important security
features. We serve more than 1,000 domestic violence victims annually, whose abusers are potential threats to clients and staff.
