The Affordable Care Act Program
We are still here and ACA is still the law!
If you have a Marketplace plan, you can continue to pay your premium and keep your health insurance because nothing has changed. Open Enrollment for 2018 Plans is over but you may still qualify for assistance.

The ACA Program can help you get the facts and answer your questions. Pisgah Legal Services is a federally funded Navigator Organization, and we are here to help people and families understand their options for affordable health insurance. Despite proposed changes ACA is still the law and coverage is available for those who qualify.
If you are confused about changes to health insurance give us a call and we can help you sort through the noise and look at what really matters for you and your family.
Another resource for people in North Carolina is the NC Get Covered website.
Medicaid and NC Health Choice accept applications year round. Apply at your local Department of Health and Human Services (DSS) or www.epass.nc.gov.
Many people qualify to enroll OUTSIDE of open enrollment! This is called a “Special Enrollment Period.”
Married? Lost your job and health insurance? Moved to a new area? These are just a few of the examples—there are many more. Schedule an appointment today to see if you qualify to enroll outside of open enrollment.
Outreach & Education
The ACA program provides free outreach and education on the Affordable Care Act (ACA) and NC Health Insurance Marketplace. If you are interested in having us speak to your group or organization, contact Shannon at 828-210-3439.
